The Data Center Project Manager is in charge of management and planning efforts of infrastructure and facilities related projects.  This position is heavily related to electrical and mechanical data center related projects.  It is the duty of this position to ensure all aspects of the project remain on track for set goals, the materials needed are on hand, and that the team stays focused.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, plan, and design of data center and facility related projects
• Manage consultants during the design process
• Facilitate, coordinate, and participate in cost analysis, and review of proposals
• Conduct pre-design meetings and field reviews with consultants and others as needed
• Track and communicate trends, issues, and solutions to leadership teams to enhance overall decision-making
• Identify and mediate project risks
• Prepares bid-ready specifications / packages
• Consult and works with team members from other internal organizations in the administration of consultant and construction contracts and their associated procurement needs
• Meet with various project managers throughout each week around the project status to ensure that each project, within the program, are financially on track and aligned to project Charters, Vendor Contracts and Purchase Orders
• Review project technical, management, and budgetary plans and ensure project compliance with corporate policy and technical specifications
• Reviews, negotiates and finalizes contracts and change orders
• Monitors project schedules
• Participates on project teams of others, including management review, re-engineering and policy groups
• Develop and implement project management strategic plans and monitoring their progress
• Acquiring the necessary permits for projects
• Adhere and align to high quality standards by ensuring details and specifications are always controlled
• Meet business objectives and expectations
• Support the design, installation, and maintenance of system projects
• Serve as an escalation point for Infrastructure Project Coordinators
• Performs other related duties as required to include but are not limited to, purchasing, troubleshooting, installations, testing

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

• Superior electrical and HVAC knowledge
• Understanding of building design and construction practices
• Advanced knowledge of how to read construction drawings
• Strong working knowledge of Autocad and basic drawing creation
• Able to write detailed ‘method of procedure’ MOP and detailed ‘scope of work’ SOW
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization; written, verbally, and interpersonally
• Demonstrated analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
• Good understanding of basic MS office programs
• Demonstrated abilities in conflict resolution
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• 5+ years Project Management experience
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• BS degree in electrical, mechanical, civil or related engineering discipline or related experience
